She says the darndest things!!!

So it's about week after we did our thanksgiving and we finally decided to break the wishbone.  Steve holds one side I grab the other side then Cadence says she wants to do it too.  So I show her how to hold it with her pinkie, she grabs onto my half with me.  I then tell her that you need to make a wish then we will all count to 3 and pull to break the wishbone.  So we all think and make our wishes.  We count "1..2...3...break"

"Yippee Cadence we got the big part, we are gonna get our wish"

and without a pause or a thought she says "I wished for boobies!!!!"

Steve and I are now laughing so hard we almost pee our pants!!  A couple days later she was talking to Auntie Val and Cadence tells her "I want purple boobies because I have a horse named purple Kangaroo"
I don't know where she comes with the stuff!  But I love it and I hope she never loses this crazy imagination.

The Reason

The year is 2054, we just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and more in love than ever. I am imagining my self sitting on our old porch swing, holding Steve's hand while my head is resting on his shoulder. We are talking about the amazing life we have had.  We talk about the day Cadence was born, the day she graduated from Yale, the day she got married, and the day our first grandchild was born.  We then talk about the day Colin was born, the day he graduated from the Naval Academy, the day he got married.  We remember all the big moments in our children's life.  Then we start to think about the little moments.  The moments that didn't seem important at the time.  But years down the road we go back to them and realize it was those moments that shaped who our children are.  Those are the most important moments.

I never want to forgot those moments.  So many times Steve will come from work, or I will be talking to family member and say "Cadence said the funniest thing today! But I can't remember what it is. Oh and Colin did something amazing 2 days ago and forgot all about it" So I have decided that those moments are the moments that need to be recorded.  I want to look back 50 years from now and remember them like they just happened yesterday.  So this blog will be my attempt to record them and share them.  Someone once said to me after hearing a story of something Cadence said "you need write this stuff down!" Well I am finally writing it down.  Sometimes I may just write a quote, or a small milestone. Other times it may be an elaborate story.  But whatever it is, it is important to me and I don't want it to become a lost memory.
